Results of the 2011 King's Cup

Start Date: TBD. Location St. Joseph River Yacht Club, Skipper's Meeting at 11:00 AM, Course is from St. Joe, MI to Chicago and back, a distance of 111 nm.

There will be free dockage off of the yacht club wall, which is where the Jimmy Buffet style band will be playing until about 11:00 PM. This is also right in front of the Rhumbline bar...how convenient! West Basin Marina is immediately behind the yacht club. We are working on getting free slips (from the city) for entrants.

GLSS is conducting the solo race in conjunction with dual handed and fully crewed sections sponsored by SJRYC. We'll probably give the handicapped (dual handed and crewed boats) a start prior to ours just to let them see the fun that they are missing out on. I couldn't hold back on that one...

It should be a great race, it goes across the Lake twice, Chicago views during sunset and back in total darkness. Mid August is when the good winds typically begin to return to the lake!
